Design Guidelines

  • Must include the words “Orinda Classic Car Show”

  • Must include the year “2025”

  • Must include the depiction of at least one car considered a late 1960’s British Sports Car and another car considered to be a late 60’s early 70’s American Muscle Car. (See samples below.)

  • Format must be high-resolution digital vector file: .ai, .pdf, .psd

  • It should be sized for 12” x 12“, 300 dpi and CMYK colors

  • It will be printed on a black t-shirt (or any other color selected by the committee).

  • Your design must be wholly original artwork and can not contain copyrighted material.

Eligibility/Entry

There is no entry fee to submit a design. Only one design submission per contestant. If you are under the age of 18, you may create a design but it must be submitted on your behalf by a parent or guardian.

Entrant must a student attending school in Lafayette, Moraga or Orinda and be enrolled in grades 8th through 12th.

Car Show Theme Information

The 2025 Orinda Classic Car Show theme is:

American Muscle vs British Invasion- a Clash of Power and Precision
 When the unbridled roar of American muscle cars collides with the refined performance of British engineering, the result is nothing short of automotive magic. It's more than a head-to-head showdown—it's a celebration of two automotive cultures at their finest.

The featured vehicles at the 2025 Orinda Classic Car Show are personified by the 1968 Jaguar XKE and the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS . See samples below.

Purpose of the T-shirts

The winning design will be printed on high quality t-shirts. The t-shirts will be sold to the general public before and at the Orinda Classic Car Show on September 6, 2025.

Important Dates

  • Submit your design (1 per contestant) by the submission deadline at midnight on May 14, 2025.

  • Entries will be judged by Orinda Association Board Members and the Chair of the T-shirt Design Contest.

  • The contest winners will be announced on May 23rd, 2025. The winner will be contacted by phone or email using the information provided on your entry form.

Prizes

The winning design will be awarded:

  • $100 cash

  • acknowledgment of the award in The Orinda News, on the Orinda Classic Car Show and The Orinda Association websites.

  • design will be placed on the Official Orinda Classic Car Show T-shirt for 2025

Honorable mentions:

  • one in each grade will be acknowledged on The Orinda Association website.

Fine Print

Judging:

Designs will be judged by a panel of 3 judges, which include board members and representatives of The Orinda Association. The entry will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Originality

  • Visibility - is it eye-catching and visible from a distance

  • Does it coincide with the mission of the Orinda Classic Car Show and the theme set forth above?

  • Feasibility - must be easy to reproduce on a black (or dark) T-shirt.
